The ESSAR Group is a multinational conglomerate and a leading player in the sectors of Steel, Oil & Gas, Power, Communications, Shipping Ports & Logistics, Construction and Minerals, with operations in more than 20 countries across five continents. Most of the business processes at Essar are supported by various ERP applications, viz SAP, I2, JDA, CORDYS etc.

The Essar solution landscape comprised of various SAP Application components that were each being managed separately. The distributed management of SAP Applications created additional overhead resulting in increased cost and time of managing the systems. Essar commissioned a project to centralize the Solution Management of various SAP Applications. Mandatory processes: Implementation of all SAP Solution Manager mandatory processes for Essar Group Landscapes.
Establishment of OSS Gateway for Essar Group SAP Landscapes.
Operations: Implementation of SAP Solution Manager’s functionality such as Early Watch Reports, Service Level Reporting and Business Process Management.
Central System Monitoring and administration for all Essar Group SAP Landscapes.
Solution Monitoring, managing and optimization of SAP Solutions across the Essar Group SAP Landscapes.
Change Request Management (Charm): Enabling features to convert a message into Change Request. and managing the same for development and customization requests.
Workflow: Integrating workflows in SAP Solution Manager for normal and emergency changes.
