Enteg’s Genie Framework
Enteg's Blackberry Genie Framework is an innovative enterprise solution built to fulfil mobile requirements of Enterprise applications, extending the reach of enterprise information , transactions and business on Blackberry phones , improving the response and speeding up processes . This makes it extremely easy for users to carry out his business on BlackBerry mobile phones irrespective of his whereabouts . The framework provides both PUSH and PULL implementations for the transfer of data to and from the servers .The Blackbery Enterprise Server or BES handles the security , enterprise network connectivity and data integrity . All data is routed through this BES .
The Genie Client software runs on the Blackberry phones which renders the forms, tables, reports , tables, graphs and charts . It interacts with the user to collect data in forms and display data in reports and charts and establishes connection with the enterprise servers to transfer the required data . It provides various customizations , transactions , report filterations , report drill down and document viewing facilities .
The Genie middle-ware component receives the request from the Genie client and connects to the target servers to perform the required operations . For reporting it may pull data from various servers and send the consolidated information to the Genie client on Blackberry through BES . It also allows any third party enterprise application to send customized and consolidated data to the mobile device in the form of charts , graphs or reports by using push technology as used in SMS. The third party application simply needs to call a web service on the middle-ware with the required data. Specific customization of this framework to suit specific requirement is also possible with minor adjustments
