Enteg's Workflow. Genie
Enteg’s Genie Framework is an innovative and modern enterprise solution built to fulfill mobile requirements of Enterprise applications. It extends the reach of enterprise information, transactions and business to Blackberry handsets, improving the response and speeding up business processes. This makes it extremely easy for users to carry out their business activities regardless of where they are. Blackberry genie framework can be made to customer specific requirements .
Product Overview
Enteg.Genie is Enteg’s indigenously developed Blackberry application which is built on Enteg’s Genie Framework for mobiles applications.
Enteg.genie application provides read, approve or reject access to the business user through his blackberry mobile device .
How it works
- A request when created at the back end gets downloaded automatically in the user’s mobile application inbox and the display is updated. An alert pops up if the application is not already open.
- Through the alert, the application validates the user though his/her login ID and password.
Requests are displayed conveniently as list in the user’s application inbox and await his action (Approval, Rejection, Cancellation etc). - The tasks associated with a request is also downloaded dynamically from the back end and is mapped to user interface menu options and push buttons
- Drill down Menu Option is provided for each request to view additional details on the request.
- After user performs a task on a request, it is removed from his inbox and it is updated at the back end system.

Solution Architecture:
The work flow genie has two components:
- A client application running on the mobile device
- A genie server deployed on SAP Netweaver or J2EEE engine and connected to back end system using RFC and web services
Features:
- The application enables us to view approval, rejections etc, of the work items in the user's business workplace.
- It It has offline capabilities and can function even without an active connection to the server. Users can perform a task on a request even in absence of internet connectivity. The moment connection is restored the request is updated at the back end.
- It provides tools to customize the functionality of the product both at the client and server level.
- Client can filter the work items by the sender and work item type.
- Tasks associated with a request type are fetched dynamically from the backed and presented to client as a menu and push buttons.
- User receives the work item in his client application inbox immediately after request is created in the back end system.
- Client provides drill down facility on a request to view additional details
- The client can run both in background and foreground mode.
- The moment a request appears, an alert is displayed to user. User can view the request by asserting the alert message
- The products supports all kind of requests ( eg: Leave Requests , PO Approval , Travel Requests ,etc )
- User can approve/ reject all or selected work items.
- The users and mobile devices are authenticated at the server and can be managed by the administrator.
- It can be integrated with SAP CRM/ BI / R3 etc. and other business applications.
- Appropriate acknowledgment is provided after the task is performed
- It has a crisp, lucrative and friendly user interface.

Security Features:
The mobile application user id and password are authenticated at back end. All Data Transmission between Corporate Firewall and mobile device is encrypted through BES. The data stored in the mobile device is private to the application and user only. Back up and restore facilities are provided for the configuration information at server
